3X THE RIDERS

TRANSIT RIDERSHIP IS PROJECTED TO MORE THAN TRIPLE
IN CHARLOTTE COUNTY WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL FUNDING

We helped write the book on transit planning in Florida.
  • Tindale Oliver played a prominent role in the development of both the original and updated FDOT Guidance for Producing a Transit Development Plan (August 2009). In particular, Tindale Oliver developed the TDP financial planning analysis tool for FDOT as part of this effort.
  • We customize each transit plan to respond to the specific needs of each community.
  • In the past 15 years, we have completed more than 50 transit plans that respond to Florida's transit planning requirements.
  • Our passion is evident to clients, citizens, and decision-makers when they collaborate with us on plans and projects to improve their communities.
I could think of no one more responsible for this vote and the future transit improvements to come than you. Your hard work, passionate presentations at our workshops and exceptional professional skills aided greatly in moving forward with future transit improvements. Your efforts in the preparation and ultimate acceptance of the plan were paramount to its success. Great Job, I learned a lot from you and your firm. - Gene Klara - MPO Planner

ACTIONABLE INSIGHT

Charlotte County is the largest Florida community (as measured by population) without fixed-route bus service.

Identifying factors that indicate a need for change:

  • Identified that the time is right to transition from a dial-a-ride transit system to a fixed-route bus system.
  • Documented the transportation needs of older adults that comprise nearly 40% of the population in Charlotte County.
  • Recognized the transportation challenges created by natural geographic barriers in Charlotte County.
  • Facilitated meaningful public outreach that impacted the project outcomes.

TRIPLE RIDERSHIP

  • Triple ridership in the first full year of new bus service
  • Reduce the cost per transit trip by 70%
  • The plan will provide better access to jobs and services, while also increasing the independence and overall quality of life of traditionally underserved populations in Charlotte County.

GREAT INSIGHTS. GREATER OUTCOMES.
