Our goal is to enhance safety, preserve the quality of life, and support economic development through coordinated transportation and land use strategies.

Our clients include MPOs, cities and counties, state departments of transportation, educational institutions, and other major entities. Our multimodal transportation planning services include:

  • Long range transportation plans
  • Congestion management process plans
  • Area-wide transportation studies and master plans
  • Demographic estimates and forecasts
  • Multimodal corridors and studies
  • Bicycle and pedestrian planning
  • Safety action plans

MPO Solutions

Among Tindale Oliver’s specialty areas is metropolitan planning and providing expertise in all aspects of Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) development, Congestion Management Process design and implementation, and other planning activities undertaken by MPOs. This includes:

  • Transit Planning
  • Sub-area and Corridor Studies
  • Transportation Data Management
  • Transportation Disadvantaged Program Management
  • Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Trails Planning and Project Development

Tindale Oliver has provided services and expertise to numerous MPOs across the state of Florida and beyond. Recently, we were selected by the Oahu (Hawaii) MPO to conduct a comprehensive review and evaluation of its current planning process to resolve a corrective received during a Federal Certification Review. This study will help OahuMPO implement strategies to improve the continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive (“3C”) process among the MPO, its participating agencies, other departments and agencies, and the public.

Corridor/Sub-Area Studies

Tindale Oliver offers a unique blend of technical and communication skills to evaluate transportation alternatives and develop and communicate feasible recommendations that can be supported by the community. We develop solutions that are responsive to local and regional land use and livability goals and that are, at the same time, consistent with adopted design criteria. Our corridor/sub-area services include:

  • Preliminary engineering reports
  • PD&E studies
  • Roadway concepts analysis
  • Corridor improvement plans
  • Design traffic forecasting
  • Multimodal studies and analysis
  • Public involvement programs

Bicycle/Pedestrian Planning

Tindale Oliver has produced comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian plans for all of our Long Range Transportation Plans, including maps and tabular listings of proposed bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The cost-affordable component of a number of these plans was funded with boxed or set-aside funding as directed by the MPO. We have developed software that calculates bicycle service level and prioritizes needed improvements.
